whipped coffee

Posted on January 17, 2026 by Admin
Ah, whipped coffee! Also called Dalgona coffee, it’s that fluffy, frothy coffee trend that went viral. It’s super easy to make at home and looks impressive too. Here’s the full breakdown:

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 tablespoons hot water

  • Milk (any kind, hot or cold)

(Pro tip: Always use instant coffee, not brewed coffee, for best froth.)

Instructions

1. Whip the Coffee

  1. Combine the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water in a bowl.

  2. Use a hand whisk, electric mixer, or even a fork (takes longer) to whip until the mixture becomes thick, fluffy, and light brown. This usually takes 3–5 minutes with a mixer and up to 10+ minutes by hand.

2. Prepare the Milk

  • Fill a glass 3/4 full with milk. Add ice if you want an iced version.

3. Top the Milk

  • Spoon the whipped coffee mixture on top of the milk.

  • Optional: Sprinkle cocoa, cinnamon, or chocolate shavings for extra flair.

4. Drink

  • Stir before drinking or sip through the frothy layer—both ways are delicious!

Tips & Tricks

  • Sweetness: Adjust sugar to taste; less sugar = less stiff foam.

  • Vegan version: Use plant-based milk (oat, almond, soy).

  • Variations: You can flavor it with vanilla extract, caramel syrup, or cocoa powder before whipping.

✅ Fun fact: The texture comes from air whipped into the coffee + sugar mixture, creating a foam that sits on top of milk. It’s basically a homemade coffee mousse!

If you want, I can also give a “quick 1-minute hack” to make whipped coffee without a whisk or mixer—it’s perfect if you don’t want to spend 5–10 minutes whipping by hand. Do you want me to show that?
