Crispy hashbrown and sausage bite

Posted on December 5, 2025 by Admin
Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for Crispy Hashbrown and Sausage Bites — perfect as a snack, breakfast, or party appetizer!

Ingredients (makes ~12 bites)

  • 2 cups frozen or freshly grated hashbrowns

  • 1 cup cooked sausage, crumbled (pork, chicken, or turkey)

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion (optional)

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder or paprika (optional)

  • Cooking spray or oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven or Air Fryer:

    • Oven: 400°F (200°C)

    • Air fryer: 375°F (190°C)

  2. Prepare Hashbrown Mixture:

    • If using frozen hashbrowns, thaw and squeeze out excess moisture.

    • In a large bowl, mix hashbrowns, crumbled sausage, cheese, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and optional spices until well combined.

  3. Shape Bites:

    • Take small spoonfuls of the mixture and form into bite-sized balls or patties.

    • Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in the air fryer basket.

  4. Cook:

    • Oven: Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.

    • Air Fryer: Cook for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

  5. Serve:

    • Serve hot with ketchup, spicy mayo, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips for Extra Crispy Bites

  • Press the bites slightly flat to increase surface area for crispiness.

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan or air fryer basket.

  • For a crunchier exterior, lightly spray or brush with oil before cooking.

I can also give a “super quick 10-minute version” that uses frozen hashbrowns and pre-cooked sausages, perfect for a last-minute breakfast or snack.
