Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken

Posted on December 5, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a crispy honey garlic chicken recipe that’s sticky, sweet, and perfectly crunchy — restaurant-style but easy to make at home! 🍯🍗

🍯 Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the chicken

  • 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup cornstarch

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

For the honey garlic sauce

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or white vinegar)

  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)

Optional garnish

  • Sesame seeds

  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

1. Prepare the chicken

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. Dip chicken pieces in beaten eggs, then coat evenly with the flour mixture.

2. Fry the chicken

  1. Heat oil in a skillet or deep pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Fry chicken pieces in batches for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.

  3. Drain on paper towels.

3. Make the honey garlic sauce

  1. In a small pan, sauté minced garlic in a tiny bit of oil until fragrant (30 seconds).

  2. Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Stir and simmer for 1–2 minutes.

  3. Add cornstarch slurry to thicken slightly. Remove from heat once glossy.

4. Combine

  • Toss fried chicken in the honey garlic sauce until evenly coated.

5. Serve

  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

  • Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried veggies.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra crispy: Bake the coated chicken at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes after frying for an extra crunch.

  • Spicy twist: Add ½ tsp chili flakes to the sauce.

  • Make it lighter: Oven-bake the chicken instead of frying.

I can also make a one-pan, less-oil version that’s crispy without deep frying — faster and healthier but just as tasty.
