Here’s a simple grilled cheese sandwich recipe — quick, classic, and extra melty:


🧀 Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, whole wheat — your choice)

  • 2–3 slices of cheese (Cheddar, American, Swiss, Gruyère, etc.)

  • 1–2 tbsp butter (softened)

Optional Add-Ins

  • Tomato slices

  • Caramelized onions

  • Crispy bacon

  • Mustard or mayo

  • Garlic powder or herbs


Instructions

  1. Butter the bread:
    Spread butter on one side of each slice. This will be the outside of the sandwich.

  2. Assemble:
    Place cheese between the un-buttered sides so the buttered sides face out.

  3. Heat the pan:
    Use medium-low heat. Too hot, and the bread burns before the cheese melts.

  4. Cook:
    Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook 2–4 minutes per side until:

    • Bread is golden brown

    • Cheese is fully melted

  5. Rest and slice:
    Let it sit 30 seconds, then slice and enjoy!
