Here’s a perfect, crispy, golden roast potatoes recipe — simple, foolproof, and restaurant-level good. 🥔✨


🔥 Crispy Roast Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2–3 lbs (1–1.5 kg) potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet work best)

  • 3 tbsp olive oil (or duck fat for extra crispiness)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • 1 tsp paprika (optional for color)

  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, or parsley), optional


Instructions

1. Preheat

Heat oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. Prep potatoes

  • Peel if you like (optional).

  • Cut into chunks about 1.5–2 inches.

3. Parboil (the secret to crispiness!)

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water for 8–10 minutes, until edges are soft.

  2. Drain, then shake the pot to rough up the edges — this gives them that crispy exterior.

4. Season

Toss potatoes with:

  • Olive oil

  • Salt & pepper

  • Garlic powder & paprika (optional)

Make sure they’re well-coated.

5. Roast

Spread evenly on a baking sheet (don’t overcrowd).
Roast 40–50 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crunchy.

6. Finish

Sprinkle with fresh herbs and a little sea salt.


Flavor Variations

🌿 Garlic & Herb: Add minced garlic in the last 10 minutes.
🧀 Parmesan: Toss with grated Parmesan before serving.
🔥 Spicy: Add chili flakes or smoked paprika.
🍋 Lemon herb: Add lemon zest + parsley at the end.
