Slow Cooker Amish Honey Glazed Carrots

Posted on December 5, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious Slow Cooker Amish Honey-Glazed Carrots recipe — perfect as a sweet and tender side dish.

🥕 Slow Cooker Amish Honey-Glazed Carrots

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2 pounds carrots, peeled and cut into 1–2 inch pieces (baby carrots work too)

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (optional for extra sweetness)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for richer flavor)

  • 1–2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep carrots
Peel and cut carrots into uniform pieces so they cook evenly.

  2. Mix glaze
In a small bowl, combine butter, honey, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  3. Combine in slow cooker
Place carrots in the slow cooker. Pour glaze over the carrots and toss until evenly coated.

  4. Cook

    • Low heat: 3–4 hours

    • High heat: 1.5–2 hours
Carrots should be tender but not mushy.

  5. Finish & serve

    • Taste and adjust seasoning.

    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.

    • Serve warm as a side dish.

Tips & Variations

  • For a richer flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the glaze.

  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a slightly different sweetness.

  • If you prefer glossy carrots, stir in 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1–2 tsp water at the end and cook on high for 10 minutes to thicken the glaze.

💡 Pro Tip: This dish keeps well in the fridge for 2–3 days — just reheat gently before serving.

If you want, I can also make a lighter, low-calorie version of this Amish honey-glazed carrots recipe that keeps all the flavor but reduces sugar and butter.

Do you want me to do that?
